One of the CSL teams enjoyed a nice lunch at Suite 701, before heading up to the rooftop patio and talking with Chef Oliver di Volpi. The artchitecture at Suite 701 reminded some of the dining area of Teatro in Calgary. The blend of historic 'bones' and modern fixtures (we love the bottles of bright blue Pommery displayed above the bar) is effortless.

Fresh 'take home' meats

Georgous and bright heirloon tomatoes are good enough to pop into the mouth, sans rien.

The hundreds of selections of cheese

These "Kumato" tomatoes, a blend of green/red look divine.
We walked around the market for several hours, hoping that we could take home everything that we came into contact with. Everything from freshly roasted coffee, cheese, and unique vegetbles and fruits were phenomenal to look at.

Freshly baked break

We loved how the beets were curled

One of the best French Onion soup's we've tasted. simple and underrated.

The auberge is home to numerous weddings, including the night the CSL crew was there

delcious fried cheese with a marinara sauce. Warm and rich.

Seared diver scallop, halibutwith potatoes and vegetables in a light cream sauce

The slow roasted braised lamb leg and garlic mashed potatoes with a decidedlyMoroccan twist.

Creme brulee.

Lemon tart. Deliciously sour with a shortbread crust

Warm, dense, chocolately brownie with chocolate ice cream

Tarte au Sucre with vanilla ice cream
"At the suggestion of Daniel Vézina, my sister and I spend a beautiful evening eating al fresco at Le Saint Gabriel, owned by Marc Bolay and Garou, the famed Quebec singer. The old stone building in Old Montreal is a place of remarkable firsts – it was once a soldier’s house until it was turned into the first North American inn, it was granted the first liquour license in North America in 1769, and it was owned by one the country’s first millionaire’s Dolly Hart. Tonight, there is music and jubilation in every corner as two weddings are taking place simultaneously inside the restaurant."- KAILASH MAHARAJ
