Just like at Kaviar Gauche10 Years Bridal Couture show at Paris Fashion Week, where gowns floated down the runway that were made to be worn more than once, this season’s beauty looks will take you well into the days of midnight sun. CSL has you covered with all the best makeup looks of the season from brows, and skin to eyes, nails and face.

1/ PAINTERLY EYES

Painters use brushes but what about makeup artists? Maybelline New York’s Global Makeup Artist, Erin Parsons, used a mix of fingertips and brushes to lend lids an “organic” feel.

“We’re using the products in different ways,” she said. “The idea is to channel your inner artist.” Apply a blue shade all over the eyes as a base and highlight the inner corners with the soft pink shadow. Next, mix a silver colour with makeup setting spray and smudge it across the tail ends of the brows.

2/ GLAMOUR GLOW

“There is a nod to the 70s, but this look is all about contemporary glamour,” makeup artist Gato for Maybelline New York said of the Naeem Khan show.

It’s easy to achieve by focusing on three areas. First, for the eyes, rim the lower waterline and the top lashes. Then create floating eyeliner by outlining the crease of the eyes in amethyst. Use the same pencil to define the lower lashes from the outer corner to the center of the eye. Polish off eyes by applying a combo of pink and champagne shades.

Second, for the face, use highlighter along cheekbones, the center of the forehead, and down the bridge of the nose for a gorgeous glow.

Third, for lips, choose a lacquer for bold color and glossy shine.

3/ THEY CALL ME MELLOW YELLOW

Bright, fierce, feminine nails in shades of yellow are perfect for the modern working woman.

Heather Reynosa, lead artist at CND, created a prominent nail look that takes inspiration from Staffordshire porcelain patterns celebrating Libertine’s signature irreverence.

At 3.1 Philip Lim, a simple, multi-layer of pale yellow on short nails infused personality. A plaid pattern anchored by gold was seen at Rebecca Minkoff.

4/ FACE PAINT

Yup, we have officially entered the Age of Aquarius! It’s arrival has been heralded since Woodstock and celebrated at new age festivals like Coachella.

Looking for an even easier way to get the vibe, no plane ticket necessary? Just switch up your makeup.

“The inspiration behind the Spring/Summer 2020 [Rixo] collection is a free-spirited woman from the 1960’s. The beauty look is a modern interpretation of the looks from that era using graphic shapes, hearts and flowers which complement the collection’s patterns.” Says  Vincent Ford, NARS International Lead Makeup Artist.

5/ FULL BROWS

NARS Cosmetics artists described them as “bushy brows,” at Christopher Kane, and “brushed up brows,” at Erdem. Either way, full brows with a hint of shadow is the look du jour.

The key to making them look cool but natural? Brow gel which helps you set the shape and brow pencil which fills in gaps and defines arches.
