Just because it’s fall doesn’t mean you can’t stand up and surround yourself with colourful flowers.

What if you could do just one simple thing to be happier each day? According to a recent study by the University of North Florida it may be as simple as indulging in a bouquet of flowers.

Based on a survey of 1,004 adults, the study found that adding flowers to indoor environments results in a meaningful reduction in stress.  “… It is both intuitive and scientifically known that adding elements of nature, like flowers, to interiors promotes well-being,” says lead researcher and Associate Professor Erin Largo-Wight, Ph.D., “When life seems to be in a constant state of frenzy, flowers can provide us with a much-needed moment of calm.”

So the next time you want to reduce your stress, grow a pot of African violets, orchids or bulbs or pick up a bouquet and place it in a prominent spot in your home.
