“There are many, many ways to connect with locals when traveling abroad, and the more traditional methods include hitting up local parks and pubs which are further off the tourist trail to interact and strike up conversations. Though nowadays there are so many fantastic resources that the internet has borne, including organizations like Couchsurfing, travel apps like OutBound and Ventoura, and there are are no more excuses as to not having access to locals when abroad. Everything is pretty much now available from our phones, and you can meet locals via apps before you even go!” says Meg Jerrard, Lead Travel Blogger/Creator Mapping Megan.
