Shake things up for the Fall/Winter 2014 season.   Instead of head to toe black, try winter pastels – the softer ice queen like look (ie. Frozen anyone?) is perfect to wear casually or dressed up for evening. / K&S Media

Pastels don’t always scream winter wear but these muted tones can look great during the cold winter season.  City Style and Living the Editor’s Notebook has some fantastic ideas.  Here are a few quick guidelines:

1. Choose outerwear in baby blues, powder puff pink eggshell yellow or cream.  This is the simplest way to integrate the trend into your wardrobe and it will be so easy to spot you (and your coat) in a sea of black and grey.

2.  If you’re not crazy about going head-to-toe in these sunny shades, opt for a scarf instead.

3.  A blazer is a great work appropriate way to get the pastel look.
